During the last week of October, when Hurricane Sandy hit eastern Pennsylvania, the Northwestern Lehigh School District was closed for five school days, Oct. 29 through Nov. 2.
The following dates are now full days for students: Jan. 21, Feb. 14, March 8 and 28, 2013.
There will be early dismissal Feb. 15, 2013.
The Holiday Shoppe will be open for students to purchase Christmas gifts for family and friends Dec.3-7.
Market Day pickup will be 5-6 p.m. Dec. 4 in the gym.
There are parent and teacher conferences Nov. 16-21. Students will be dismissed at noon. November.16 and 19 there is no afternoon kindergarten on Nov. 16 and 19.
November 20 and 21 there will be no morning kindergarten on Nov. 20 and 21.
Report Card Day is Nov. 19. School will not be in session Nov. 22-26 for Thanksgiving break.
Northwestern Lehigh libraries are working together to vote for the school district's favorite book series and single title. Students in kindergarten through second grade will vote in school using a paper ballot.
Thursday, Nov. 15: Elem., M.S., H.S.: Chicken parmesan or meatballs, rotini pasta and sauce, tossed salad cup, steamed peas, apple wedges, milk.
Friday, Nov. 16: Early dismissal. No lunch. H.S.: Steak sandwich with cheese or cheese ravioli with dinner roll, carrot sticks with dip, baked potato, mixed fruit, milk.
Monday, Nov. 19: Early dismissal. No lunch. H.S.: Bean and cheese burrito or Mandarin chicken with steamed brown rice, vegetable egg roll, fresh broccoli florets with dip, peaches, milk.

Report card day is Nov. 12.
There will be no school Nov. 22-26 for Thanksgiving.
The high school drama, "All In The Timing," a collection of eight short vignettes will be performed 7 p.m. Nov. 8-10. Tickets are not sold in advance, but may be purchased at the door.
Northwestern Lehigh Wrestling is having an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner noon-7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Lynnport Fire Company, 7164 Behler Road, Lynnport.
Meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Take out will be available.

Northwestern Lehigh High School Drama Club feels it's all in the timing.
These young thespians have been hard at work on 14 vignettes, written by David Ives, that are combined under one title, "All in the Timing."
Ives designed this group of vignettes to fit together and force his audience to consider how they use their language.
Northwestern Lehigh Middle School students in grades 6,7 and 8 will participate in a mock presidential election on Nov. 5.
The purpose of the school-wide election will be to experience the electoral process by comparing homeroom voting results as popular and electoral votes.
The bulletin board in the main foyer will be the focal point for election results. Three times during the school day on Nov. 5, voting results from grade-level homerooms will be announced and recorded on the bulletin board.
