Gloria M. Beers, 77, of Allentown, died Feb. 1, 2019, at home.

She was the wife of the late G. Larry Beers.

Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Wesley R. and Helen (Wertman) Breininger.

A seamstress, she enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, traveling and baking.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown.

Evelyn R. Marsteller 85, of Macungie, formerly of Florida, died peacefully Jan. 30, 2019.

She and her husband, Edwin H. Marsteller, were married more than 63 years at the time of his death in 2017.

They were members of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Aaron D. and Clara (Berky) Carl Sr.

A graduate of the former Allentown High School, she was a self-employed dog groomer for many years.

Violet B. Dolliver, 100, of Allentown, died Feb. 4, 2019, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Aubrey Ernest Dolliver.

Born June 1, 1918, in New Tripoli, she was the daughter of the late Oscar A. and Annie A. (Bachman) Moyer.

She owned and operated the former Violet’s Hobby Shop, Allentown, founded in 1948.

Before that she taught in both Lehigh and Northampton counties for 10 years after graduating from the former Kutztown State Teacher’s College in 1937.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Allentown.

Jule N. Esser

Jule N. Esser, 61, of Fogelsville, died suddenly Jan. 27, 2019.

She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ruth (Lehman) Esser.

A corrections officer at the former Pennsylvania Work Release Center in Allentown for 18 years, during the last year, she was a corrections officer for Wernersville Community Corrections Center until she retired in January.

She was a member of Hope Community Church, Weisenberg Township.

Her survivors include her twin sister, Jan Erdman and husband, Todd, of Fogelsville.

Robert A. “Bobby” Gilbert, 83, longtime resident of Macungie, died suddenly on Jan. 30, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Dorothea M. (Helfrich) Gilbert, were married 54 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Ray G. and Eva F.A. (Roth) Gilbert.

He was a member of Solomon’s United Church of Christ, Macungie.

A 1955 graduate of Emmaus High School, he worked for Mack Trucks for more than 33 years until retiring.

He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army.

Donald M. Frey

Donald M. Frey, 83, of Allentown, died on Jan. 31, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Shirley P. (Reehle) Frey, were married 61 years.

Born March 14, 1935, in South Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late Henry O.D. Sr. and Mildred A. (Dottery) Frey.

He was a vending machine supervisor for Pepsi, Allentown, for 44 years before retiring in 1999.

An automobile enthusiast, he was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

Edward C. Stoudt, 95, of Allentown, died Jan. 24, 2019, at home.

He and his wife Kathryn A. (Trexler) Stoudt were married more than 28 years.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene (Nau) Stoudt, with whom he shared being a Gold Star parent to his late son Gordon E. Stoudt, who died while serving in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Clarence E. and Lillian I. (DeLong) Stoudt.

Before retiring, he worked as a lighting specialist for Crowder, Allen Electric.

Michael H. Geiger, 62, of New Tripoli, died Jan. 26, 2019, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

He and his wife Donna M. (Bechtel) Geiger were married 39 years last Aug. 11.

Born July 17, 1956, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Ruth C. (Kutz) Geiger.

A leak technician at Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Allentown, for 28 years, he retired in 2015.

He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.

She was the wife of the late Gerald Schafer.

Born May 4, 1931, in Upper Milford Township, she was the daughter of the late Harold O. and Helen N. (Fegely) Berger.

She was employed in the housekeeping department of the Sheraton Jet Port, Allentown, for 12 years before retiring in 2001.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen J. and Henrietta (Gehringer) Seyer.

He was a professor of social sciences at Lehigh Carbon Community College for 40 years.
