AnnaMae L. Snyder, 68, of Whitehall, died Oct. 23, 2018, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
She and her husband, Thomas F. Snyder, were married 45 years.
Born Oct. 10, 1950, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Elvin C. and Elva I. (Rex) Hunsicker.
She was a teacher’s aide for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, Schnecksville for 15 years before retiring.
She was a former volunteer at The Cat Shack Inc., Whitehall.
Kenneth E. Strohl, 91, from Fogelsville, died on Oct. 19, 2018, in his home under the care of his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
A loving and devoted husband, father and family man, he actually did marry the girl next door, his high school sweetheart, Jean L. Shaffer, who died in 2011.
They celebrated 62 years of marriage, and had three sons, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, four grandchildren-in-laws, and two great-grandchildren.
He was lovingly called “Pappy” by all.
Carolyn R. Reichl, 79, of Orefield, died Oct. 15, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus.
She was the wife of the late William C. Reichl.
Born March 29, 1939, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (LaFaw) Ruppert.
A 1957 graduate of Allen High School, she was the office manager for Erie Insurance Co. formerly located in Northampton for 30 years before retiring.
Erma A. Snyder, 94, of Fogelsville, died Oct. 24, 2018, at home.
She was the widow of Kenneth M. Snyder.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Gladys (Herster) Reiss.
She was a secretary for the Allentown School District from 1958-88.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fogelsville.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Thomas A. Hails, 83, from Breinigsville, died Oct. 25, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the widower of Mary E. (McKee) Hails.
Born in Missouri, he was a son of the late Frank and Frances (Murphy) Hails.
He had a food brokerage and procurement business for most of his life and was known all around North America.
President of Thomas A. Hails Co., Inc., he loved training horses and enjoyed going to the casino and playing poker.
He was a member of Jordan-Martin Lodge 673 F.&A.M., Allentown.
Ruth M. Phillips, 79, of Schnecksville, formerly of Neffs, died Oct. 26, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus, Bethlehem.
She was the wife of the late Robert S. Phillips.
Born June 15, 1939, in Neffs, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Helen C. (Ruch) Schneck.
A secretary at the former Lehigh County Vocational Technical School, now Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, Schnecksville, for nine years, she retired in 1989.
She was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
Sarah Elizabeth Hoover, 35, of Coplay, died Oct. 19, 2018, in her shared living home.
She was the beloved daughter of Joan M. (Brelsford) Hoover and the late David S. Hoover Ph.D.
She loved the water, Chick-fil-A french fries and Target.
She attended school at Whitehall-Coplay, Northwestern Lehigh, Parkland and Allentown school districts, before graduating from Pocono Mountain East High School in 2004.
She also attended programs at LifePath, Community Services Group, The LIFT Center, and shared living through Impact, Keystone Human Services and RHD.
Christine M. Wehr, 86, of Kutztown, died Oct. 25, 2018, in her home.
She was the wife of Gerald Wehr.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George and Ada (Zellers) Coleman.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, five children, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister, and many dear friends.
Her memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 671 Noble St., Kutztown.

LaRue L. Rex, 90, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 11, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospice In-Patient Unit.
Born Oct. 13, 1927, in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Herber) Heiser.
She and her husband, Harold F. Rex, were married more than 50 years until his death in 2000.
A graduate of Allentown High School and Allentown Business School, she retired from the Northwestern Lehigh School District, where she was a cook in the cafeteria for many years.
Howard Grant Rosell, “Big Al” or “Gummo,” 87, from Slatington, died on Oct. 26, 2018, in ManorCare, Bethlehem.
He was the husband of the late Mary (Speck) Rosell.
Born Aug. 28, 1931 on Otis Avenue, Tuckerton, N.J., he was a son of the late Harry Curlis and Greta (Grant) Rosell.
His father was a charter boat captain.
He attended Tuckerton schools and graduated from Tuckerton High School, where he played basketball and baseball.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and the New Jersey National Guard.
