Robert “Bob” Cleon Dorney, 93, died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 24, 2018.

Born in Dorney Park, he was a son of the late Warren and Mabel (Stauffer) Dorney,

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Hazel Sherry Dorney, and his three children and their spouses Craig Dorney (Sue), Faye Dorney Madgitz (Harvey) and Keith Dorney (Katherine); stepchildren, E. Vincent Sherry (Noreen), Anne Ecker (Christian), Colleen Dooley (Peter), and Thomas Sherry (Anne).

He was predeceased by his first wife of 44 years, Audrey Ryback Dorney.

Betty A. Snyder, 89, of Kutztown, formerly of Quakertown, died peacefully April 27, 2018, in Kutztown Manor.

She was the wife of the late William E. Bergstresser and Harold W. Snyder.

Born in Geryville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Blumie (Yorkey) Gaugler.

Her survivors include daughters Fay Hoff and her husband, Lester, and Lugene Wendling and her husband, Scott; stepdaughter Starr Dreisbach and her husband, Gerald; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.

Karen G. Danner, 66 of Allentown, died April 27, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born Jan. 28, 1952, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Granville George and the late Loretta (Steigerwalt) George.

She and her husband Robert Danner II celebrated 45 years of marriage in January.

A 1969 graduate of Dieruff High School, she was a bus driver for Parkland School District for 26 years before retiring in February 2017.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family.

Hobart E. McGonigle

Hobart E. McGonigle, 81, died April 20, 2018, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, where he was a guest for the last four months.

A son of the late James and Margaret (Lentz) McGonigle, he was born in the north end of Allentown with no TVs or computers, but he had a great childhood.

He was raised with Jordan Park as his backyard, with many friends, including his five siblings.

A member of the former Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, he was most recently a member of St. John’s UCC, Fullerton.

Gloria Cora Peter Graeffe Pool died peacefully April 25, 2018, in Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Jack Graeffe and the late Leonard Pool between 1968 and 1975.

She was the daughter of the late Ida and Oliver Peter.

A graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, she received a master’s degree in public health at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Her greatest gift was love of family.

Her survivors include a son J. Peter Graeffe; daughters Jane Witheridge and Kristin Selden; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Margaret Dluga Galus, 73, of Orefield, formerly of Allentown, died April 24, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

She and her husband John Galus were married 54 years on Jan. 16.

Born Jan. 21, 1945, in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jakub Dlugi and Anna (Majerczak) Dluga.

A graduate of the former Northampton County Community College, now Northampton Community College, with a degree in culinary arts, she owned the former Lantern Restaurant, Bethlehem, for seven years before retiring in 2008.

Joseph A. Cichonski Sr. 89, of South Whitehall Township, died on April 20, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The loving husband of the late Louise T. (Barsuglia) Cichonski, he worked at GE for 41 years until retiring in 1989.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Ozimkiewicz) Cichonski.

He attended Roman Catholic High School, Philadelphia, and was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

Margaret “Peggy” L. Rinsland, 91, of Allentown, died April 10, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George Maxey Rinsland.

Born in Forty Fort, she was a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Reabuck) Spishock.

A member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall, she was a secretary for 15 years at Lehigh Portland Cement Company, after which she and her husband operated the historic American Mail Auction for 22 years.

Born Oct. 9, 1980, in Allentown, she was a 2006 graduate of Kutztown University, with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education,

She was a substitute teacher in the Northampton and Whitehall school districts. Before that, she taught first grade at Central Elementary School, Allentown.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt, Whitehall.
