Christine M. (Snyder) Hosfeld, 93, of Allentown, formerly of Stony Run, died Aug. 8, 2013, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
She was the wife of the late Clyde L. Hosfeld.
Born Jan. 7, 1920, in Schnecksville, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Mamie (Lorah) Snyder.
She was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1937 and the former Joyce Art Beauty School, Allentown.
Irvin F. Yerger, Jr., 79, from Wescos-ville, died on Aug. 9, 2013, in his home.
He was the husband of Joan J. (Kneller) Yerger.
Born April 17, 1934, in Frackville, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Irvin F. Sr. and Caroline A. (Spears) Yerger.
He was a truck driver for various companies in the Lehigh Valley for many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Orefield congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Donald O. Eberwein, 91, of Lehigh Furnace, died July 29, 2013, in Palmerton Hospital.
He and his wife Arlene M. (Silfies) Eberwein celebrated 68 years of marriage in January.
Born June 6, 1922, in Lehigh Furnace, he was the son of the late George and Daisy (Remaley) Eberwein.
He was a Navy veteran during World War II, during which he served as a petty officer third class in Africa and Sicily onboard the USS Narragansett (AT-88) from 1942-45.
Employed for 44 years by Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, he served as an assembler until retiring.
Roma M. Bisko, 83, of Emerald, died Aug. 8, 2013, in her home.
She was the wife of the late John Bisko who died in 2003.
Born May 7, 1930, in Emerald, she was a daughter of the late Morris S. and Bertha Jones Kern.
Employed by various knitting mills in the Slatington area for numerous years as a seamstress, she also was a bartender for various years at several bars.
She was of the Christian faith.
Tilghman M. Oswald, 94, of Neffs, died Aug. 8, 2013, in his home.
He was the husband of Linda L. (Shook) Oswald and the late Velma M. (Gerhart) Oswald.
Born June 4, 1919, in Orefield, he was the son of the late Francis E. and Mabel G. (Nagle) Oswald.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of seaman first class.
He was an appraiser for the Lehigh County Assessment Office, Allentown, for 26 years before retiring in 1990.
Marleen Gail Schoemaker, 64, of Orefield, died in Lehigh Valley Hospice, July 29, 2013, after losing her battle with cancer.
The daughter of Mary Jean Baylett-Vogelsong of Trexlertown and the late Ralph Vogelsong, she was a 1967 graduate of Parkland High School.
She became a licensed practical nurse at Lehigh Carbon Community College in 1969.
Her final 10 years of nursing were spent at Phoebe Ministries, Allentown.
Brian G. Jones, 72, of Upper Macungie Township, died Aug. 8, 2013, in his home.
He and his wife Marlane C. (Crater) Jones would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 30.
Born in Pen Argyl, he was the son of the late Wesley M. and Olive M. (Gilpin) Jones.
A graduate of Albright College, Reading, he was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall.
A veteran of the US. Navy, he retired as a commander with the U.S. Naval Reserve.
He was a regional sales manager for Sonoco Products Company, for 22 years until retiring in 2001.
James L. Diehl, of Allentown, died Aug. 11, 2013, in Whitehall Manor.
He and his wife, the late R. Jean (Rossi) Diehl, were married 59 years.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Catherine (Seifert) Moyer.
He attended Allentown High School and later served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division.
Employed by UGI Corporation for 42 years, he was a line maintenance supervisor.
A devoted husband and father, he was happiest when surrounded by his family at his home.
Dale A. Tretter, 67, of Allentown, died Aug. 5, 2013, in Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Anita (Koppenhaver) Tretter, who died Mothers Day, May 12, 1974.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John A. and Ethel (Schmoyer) Tretter.
He was a Class A machinist with the former Ingersoll Rand, Allentown, for many years.
He will lovingly be remembered and greatly missed by his family and close friends from the Madison Bar and Grill, Allentown.
Ethel McCay, 94, formerly of Allentown, died Aug. 9, 2013, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.
She was the wife of the late Woodrow L. McCay.
Born in Ashley, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Smith) Tinner.
She was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall, where she was a member of the Lay Fellowship and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
