Anna M. Blose, 85, of Kempton, formerly of Fogelsville, died Sept. 30, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She was the widow of Stewart D. Blose.
Born in Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Fister) Hemerly Sr.
She was a presser for Penn State Mills and various other mills in the Lehigh Valley.
She was a member of Ziegels Lutheran Church, Breinigsville.
Frederick B. "Fred" Selig III, 64, of Germansville, and Dushore, Sullivan County, died Sept. 25, 2013, in his home.
He and his wife Diane C. (Hoppes) Selig were married 47 years.
Born Oct. 23, 1948, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick B. Jr. and Betty J. (Ziegler) Selig.
He owned and operated Selig Electric, Germansville, for 35 years before retiring in January.
Gladys R. Sylanski, 87, formerly of Kempton, Allentown and Philadelphia, died Sept. 25, 2013 in Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Carl R. Sylanski.
Born in Kempton, she was a daughter of the late Philip James and Mantana Celeste (Kunkel) Kuhn.
She and her husband were the former owners of Sylanski's Bar and Restaurant, West Dauphin Street, Philadelphia.
She was an avid Phillies fan, but also cheered the Eagles, the Polish American Mummers and F.O.P. Philadelphia Lodge 5.
Her survivors include nieces and nephews.
Robert W. Smith Jr., 89, of New Tripoli, died Sept. 30, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He and his wife Christine C. (Kuhnsman-Mantz) Smith were married 42 years in August.
Born in Lynn Township, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Pauline Y. (Kistler) Smith.
A rural letter carrier in New Tripoli from 1965-80, he then was a school bus driver for the Northwestern Lehigh School District from 1980-88.
Past president of the Ontelaunee Lions Club, he was a member of St. Peter's Church, Lynnville.
Michael W. Brawn, 51, of Orefield, died Sept. 25, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born June 13, 1962, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, he was the son of Joseph W. and Cindy F. (Cantwell) Siddons of Rockingham, N.C.
He was a truck driver for Waste Management, Allentown, for 25 years last working in 2010.
Robert R. "Bob" Kalb, 64, of Allentown died suddenly on Sept. 22, 2013.
He was the husband of Dolores "Dee" (Bohunicky) Kalb, with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert and Betty Kalb.
A 1967 graduate of Parkland High School, he continued his education at Lehigh County Community College.
He was a talented athlete having played basketball, baseball and football for the South Parkland Youth Association.
A self-employed business owner for more than 30 years, he owned Lehigh Capital Access Inc., Allentown.
Catherine O. Kitty Matthews, 91, formerly of Kempton, died Sept. 30, 2013, in her home at Arden Court Assisted Living, Allentown.
Born Oct. 7, 1921, in Lyons Station, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Olympia (Alvarez) Reppert.
She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Women's Army Corpa for three and a half years.
She was employed for 25 years out of the Reading Post Office, retiring as postmaster of Kutztown.
A member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees local Chapter 103, she served as treasurer for nine years.
Robert S. Muth, 74, of Breinigsville, died Sept. 25, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the widower of Sharen S. (Rau) Muth, who died in April.
They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in March.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Helen (Muth) Werley.
He was a truck driver for George Husack Inc., Schnecksville, for 35 years before retiring in 2006.
Prior to that, he worked for the former Freeman's Dairy.
He also grew up working on his family's farm in Lowhill Township.
Judith C. Lieberman, 93, from Emmaus, formerly of Spring Valley, N.J., died Sept. 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Marc A. Lieberman, who died in 1985.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Miriam (Schwartz) Cohen.
As a community activist, she was the recipient of various awards including the Lehigh Valley Aging Inplace Coalition "Person of the Year" in 2006 as well as the Governor's Citizen Crime Protection Volunteer Recognition Award in 2012.
Martha M. Devine, 89, of Allentown, died Sept. 20, 2013, in her home.
She was the wife of the late Roderick C. Devine Sr.
Born May 7, 1924, in North Bellmore, Long Island, N.Y., she was the seventh of nine children of the late Walter and Josephine (Mentz) Skuza.
She was a 40-year member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, actively participating in many parish functions including the funeral choir and quilting club.
