Paul Grothouse did the voice over for "This Old House" showing how the wood countertop was built.

"You saw me cut the miters," he said. "We are going to insert spines. If we don't cut the joints properly it won't come together.

Pittsburgh residents charged with drug trafficking

Three Pittsburgh residents were arrested on Oct. 11 in Upper Macungie Township for allegedly trafficking narcotics.

According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained from District Judge Michael Faulkner's office, State Trooper Jonathan R. Gerken was driving a marked police cruiser with Trooper Matthew Lowe at 9:21 p.m. Oct. 10 when they saw a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling 19 mph over the speed limit along I-78, Weisenberg Township.

Lehigh Valley Health Network will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for adults and children 6 months and older during two sessions in November.

Shots will be given drive-thru 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 3 at Dorney Park, South Whitehall, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Coca-Cola Park, Allentown.

Optional donations of non-perishable food items that have not expired will be accepted.

Open Gate tour gives city folk a chance to visit farms

Lyon Creek, Blacksmith Road, New Tripoli, took part in the Open Gate Farm Tour, sponsored Oct. 21 by the Lehigh County Penn State Extension.

The farms on the tour represent a variety of types of agricultural associated businesses including: vineyards, Haines Mill, a pumpkin patch, orchards, livestock and vegetable farms.

Lyon Creek has a pumpkin patch for the first time.
