Breakfast offered

Members of United Church of Christ Greenawalds, 2325 Albright Ave, South Whitehall, are cooking up an S.O.S. Breakfast 8-11 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The menu will include creamed dried beef on toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, toast, fruit, pastry and beverages.

A freewill offering will be taken.

Proceeds will benefit the Fellowship Hall flooring project and UCC Disaster Ministries.

Carnival Sept. 16 at fire company

Kempton Fire Company, 2461 Route 143, Kempton, will be having a carnival 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 16 at the station.

There will be games and fun for all.

The fire company is also having a surf and turf bingo Oct. 14 at the fire company.

Doors open at noon. Games start at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.

The fire company will be presenting a Roaring ’20s murder mystery dinner Nov. 4.

Doors open 5 p.m. Buffet dinner at 6 p.m.

There will be a 50/50 drawing and cash bar. Costumes are welcome.

Senior expo offered Sept. 14

Area senior citizens are invited to state Rep. Zach Mako’s, R-183rd, second annual senior expo 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14, at Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mountain Drive, Cherryville.

The expo is free to attend.

Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with more than 75 local, state and federal agencies and organizations offering information on programs and services available to seniors.

Free flu shots will be available, assuming no manufacturing delays.

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following programs for seniors in September.

The following groups and disc jockeys will be playing oldies and requests at the Saturday and Wednesday dances, so come out and enjoy the music with your friends.

Sept. 19: The King Duo

Sept. 22: The Steel City Band

Sept. 29: DJ Music Mix with Jerry Deanne

Saturday dances will be 7:30-10:30 p.m. The Wednesday dance will be 1-4 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

Fundraiser walk on Sept. 23

The Lehigh Valley Apraxia Network and Apraxia Kids are sponsoring a walk to benefit children with apraxia of speech Sept. 23 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane, Upper Macungie.

Childhood apraxia of speech is a challenging and complicated neurological speech disorder.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. Walk begins at 10:30 a.m. The walk is open to all adults and children. Entertainment will include DJ Jimbo and Moana will sing. In addition, there will be games, crafts and more.

Expo Sept. 15 at Da Vinci

Sen. Browne

State Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, will have his annual Kids Discovery Expo 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Da Vinci Science Center, 3145 Hamilton Blvd., Bypass, Allentown. The event will take place rain or shine.

This free expo, which is open to the public, will provide valuable information on numerous programs and services available from government, community, nonprofit and corporate groups throughout the area.
