Basket bingo on Sept. 22

Citizen's Fire Co., 3922 Main St., Slatedale, is having a name-brand basket bingo with pottery and wrought iron on Sept. 22.

Doors open at noon and the games begin 1 p.m. There will be 20 regular board games and five specials, raffles and door prizes.

Kitchen will be open for refreshments.

Volunteer fair Sept. 11, 12

Lehigh Carbon Community College's Career Development Center and Student Life office will host a volunteer fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12 in the Student Union and lower level Alcove area of the Administration Building, main campus, Schnecksville.

The event, which will feature a remembrance of 9/11 and celebrate National Day of Service, is designed to provide students with an opportunity to discuss volunteer opportunities with organizations in the Valley.

Organizations and companies interested in participating may register for free.

Set for Sept. 8 in Bethlehem

The Bethlehem Veg Fest will take place from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 8 at 316 S. New Street, along the South Side greenway.

There will be vegetarian natural food providers, national speakers, chefs, educational exhibitors and kids activities, free admission and food sampling.

Apple Fest on Sept. 8

Frieden's Lutheran Church, 9727 Red Road, Stony Run, is having its annual Apple Festival Sept. 8. Food will be served from 2-8 p.m.

The group, "Witness," will entertain 5-8 p.m. with traditional, Southern gospel and light contemporary Christian music.

The event will take place rain or shine.

Everyone is invited to worship with Fools 4 Christ Clown Troupe at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at the church. Fools 4 Christ provides the Christian message with mime.

Free classes being offered

The Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club is offering free classes for the FCC test to earn a amateur radio license and begin talking on the radio with other amateur radio operators locally and around the world.

Classes run for nine Tuesdays 7-9 p.m. at Gracedale, near Nazareth.
