Craft show, Santa on Dec. 8

West End Youth Center, 848 N. 20th St., Allentown, is having a holiday craft show 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8.

Santa Claus will be available for photos between 10 a.m.-noon.

There will be handmade crafts, lunch, bake sale and raffle.

Donations will be accepted at the door.

All proceeds will benefit the youth center.

Monthly meeting on Dec. 11

Lehigh County TRIAD invites the public to hear guest speaker Kathy Perlow, coordinator of Community Exchange, a project of the Department of Community Health and Health Studies of Lehigh Valley Health Network Dec. 11 at Emeritus of Allentown, 1545 Greenleaf St., Allentown.

A free continental breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. followed by the guest speaker and meeting.

TRIAD'S mission is to educate seniors to services available to them in the county.

Meetings are open to the public and are free.

Santa Claus coming to town

Santa Claus will be visiting the Neffs Volunteer Fire Company, 3755 Park Avenue, Neffs, between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 22.

In addition to a visit from the Jolly Ole' Elf, there will be light refreshments of milk and cookies provided by local businesses and holiday themed coloring activities for the kids.

There will also be a mailbox on site for those last minute letters to the North Pole.

Parents will be allowed to snap pictures of Ole' Saint Nick with their children.

Society to hold open houses

The Carbon Model Railroad Society is having open houses 7-9 p.m. Thursdays through Jan. 3, 2013, at 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown.

The display also be open 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 9 and the weekend of Jan. 5, 2013.

The main "HO" scale display is in various stages of completion and is an excellent learning tool.

The club's portable "HO" and "N" displays will be in operation on the second floor. There will be new and pre-owned accessories for sale. Admission is free.

Twisted Reed, 7998 King's Highway, Lynnport, is having its 2012 holiday open house 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16.

There will be hand-woven baskets, handpainted Old World santas, handloomed scarves, hand knitted hats and accessories, pottery and jewelry available.

Theater group to perform

Players of the Stage, a community theater group for local students that aims to glorify God through the art of drama is taking to the stage once again this holiday season to perform "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" 7 p.m. Nov. 29, Dec. 1, 6, 7, and 8 and 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and 8 at Living Hope Presbyterian Church, 330 Schantz Road, Allentown.

This heartwarming Christmas classic is about less-fortunate children who find their way into a church building to get dessert, and end up taking control of the small town's Christmas pageant.

Tickets are free but reservations are required.
