The Allentown CROP Hunger Walk, sponsored by the Lehigh County Conference of Churches, is scheduled for Oct. 14 at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, at the corner of Ott and Walnut sts., Allentown.
Registration begins at 1 p.m. with a brief opening ceremony at 1:30 p.m.
There will be two routes: the 6-mile walk through Allentown with three rest stops along the way and the Golden Mile walk for Golden Agers, families with children or dogs, or anyone wanting a leisurely pace.

This dispensing service helps by reminding people with complex medication regimens to take medications at preprogrammed times, from convenient prefilled dosage cups. It combines an automated medication dispenser with 24-hour monitoring and adherence reporting.

Doors open at 1 p.m. Buffet will be available from 2-3:30 p.m. Bidding will take place 1-4 p.m. The auction will be 4-5 p.m.
Reservations need to be made by Oct. 25. All items are new and donated by local businesses.

Berks County Parks and Recreation Department will have its 31st annual Heritage Festival 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 rain or shine at the Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, off Route 183, Bern Township.
The festival will feature live music, draft horses, a mule-powered carousel and much more. Admission is free.
