The 14th annual Pioneer Applefest will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at Ontelaunee Park.
There will be pioneer and Native American Indian demonstrations, with live music all day.
Food and beverages, including candied apples, apple dumplings, apple cider and other treats, will be available.
Enjoy hayrides, tractor and car shows, craft vendors and super smart dogs taking on agility courses.
The clothing closet at Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, will be open from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 13.
Spread the word! On Oct. 5, Heidelberg Union Church will have a basket social 5-7:30 p.m. in fellowship hall. The public is invited to attend.
Basket donations valued at $20 are being sought as well as donations of items for door prizes.
Basket items should be placed in a clear cellophane gift bag with a 3-inch by 5-inch index card attached describing the contents of the basket.
Some ideas for baskets are as follows; children books, baby and kitchen items, seasonal baskets, toys and treats for cats or dogs, bath and body items for men and women, etc.
St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, is hosting a craft fair and quilt sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 13.
The event features handmade crafts, refreshments, bake sale, Chinese auction and raffle.
Quilts will be displayed in the sanctuary. They may be purchased or simply viewed for their interesting patterns.
This is an opportunity to find gifts for any special occasion.
Come and enjoy lunch with a variety of homemade items including barbecue and soup.

Registration and number pickup starts at 8 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 9 a.m.
Come out and support local charities and enjoy the fall foliage and scenery.
In addition to instant results and awards, this event will have food from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, announces Sunday worship times are now at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. A variety of music will be offered at each service.
Christian education hour is 9:30 a.m. each Sunday for all ages.
The catechetical program begins Sept. 25.
A contemporary worship service will be offered 6 p.m. Sept. 22. The service will feature the group SWIM, with Bobby Siegfried leading the music along with youth musicians.
East Coast K-9 Trials will be 9 a.m. Sept. 30 at Thunderhead Farm, 7813 Springhouse Road, Lynn Township.
This free, family event will honor those who put their lives on the line daily. Come watch the K-9s and their handlers compete against each other.

Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, will have its annual bazaar 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 22. There will be a large flea market, food and baked goods for sale, and handmade crafts.
Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is hosting a family fun walk for conservation 9-10 a.m. Sept. 15.
Learn more about the zoo’s conservation efforts while getting an up-close look at the African penguins, otters, zebras, oryx, giraffes and Mexican gray wolf during a guided tour.
At the end of the tour, all children will receive a participation medal to commemorate their experience.
There will also be a special appearance by Snow White 9-11 a.m., courtesy of Joanna Bertalan of Professional Singing Princess.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host a bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater to see the show, “Jesus” on Nov. 3.
The bus will leave the church parking lot at 10 a.m., have lunch at Shady Maple, do some shopping, see the show, and be back at the church by 7:30 p.m. Deadline to register is Oct. 3.
