CleanSweep recycling April 12

The four-township annual CleanSweep recycling event will take place 8 a.m.-noon April 12 at the Lowhill Township Building.

Bring tires, refrigerators, computers, recyclables to be disposed properly. There is a fee for some items.

Christ's Church at Lowhill will be hosting a penny party 6 p.m. on April 11.

Penny party trays with a wide variety of items to bid on will start being passed around at 7 p.m.

To bid on an item, attendees place their number in the ticket container and the amount indicated on the item.

For two or more chances to win, place two or more tickets and double (triple, quadruple, etc.) the money into the containers.

Bring your own pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters or exchange bills for pennies at the door.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m. with Lent services beginning 6:30 p.m.

There will be activities and lessons for children.

Clothing closet open March 13

The clothing closet at Ebenezer Church, New Tripoli, will be open from 6-8 p.m. March 13, and from 10 a.m.-noon on March 15.

There are free clothes for the entire family, including senior citizens. Take as much as you need. Proof of need is not required.

Clothing donations are not being accepted at this time.
