Meat loaf on menu at church

All are welcome! On Jan 18, Heidelberg Union Church, 5187 Irvin Road, Heidelberg Township, is offering a delicious meat loaf dinner in fellowship hall.

In addition to lots of mouthwatering meatloaf, this meal also includes parsley potatoes, corn, cinnamon applesauce, homemade breads, desserts and beverages.

Limited seating times are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Wing Night Jan. 18 at Jacob's

Jacob's Church, New Tripoli invites the community to Wing Night Saturday, 4-7 p.m. Jan. 18.

The meal include wings, fresh cut fries, celery and blue cheese, dessert and birch beer.

Proceeds help offset the cost of the youth group's trip to Kingdom Bound.


Ebenezer UCC, 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli, has a full schedule of events for this weekend.

First, the Women of the Church at Ebenezer will be having a penny party Jan. 18. Doors open at noon. Penny party begins 1 p.m. Kitchen will be open for a light lunch.

Weisenberg Lowhill Historical Society is collecting aluminum cans as a fundraiser.

Bring empty cans to Werleys Corner headquarters and place them under the forebay of the barn.

The library will not be open regular hours in the winter due to heating the building.

Fire company making potato filling

Dinner delights! The Germansville Fire Company is taking orders for its fabulous, old-fashioned potato filling and hot bacon dressing just in time for Christmas.

Place orders no later than Dec. 21 by calling 610-767-4400.

Orders are sold by the pound, and serve approximately two people.

To have a little left over for the next day, be sure to order plenty.

Bring containers for filling to the upstairs kitchen of the fire company 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 24.

With the fire company in mind, have you purchased your reflective house marker numbers yet?

Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, invites everyone in the community to the Christmas Eve candlelight service 7:30 p.m.

Ebenezer's closet will be open 6-8 p.m. Jan. 9, 2014, and 10 a.m.-noon, Jan. 11, 2014.

Free clothes are available for the entire family. Take as much as you need. Proof of need is not required.

Morganland honoring veterans Dec. 14

Morgenland Church is selling ornaments for the Remembrance Tree to help defray heating costs.

Ornaments may be purchased by calling 610-395-0067.

Orders may be placed until Dec. 15.

There will be Breakfast with Santa at Morgenland 8-11 a.m. Dec. 14.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

The church is participating in National Wreaths Across America Dec. 14.

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society will host its annual Grischtdaag (Christmas) at its Werleys Corner headquarters along Holbens Valley Road, between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 14.

Santa will be available for pictures 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (pets welcome). Children's holiday crafts and ornament making will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Grangers to meet in Seipstown

Mark your calendar! On Dec. 7, grangers from Lehigh and Northampton counties will meet 2 p.m. for their quarterly meeting as guests of Seipstown Grange.

The program will focus on preparing for Christmas.
