Hooks of Hope needs yarn

Mark your calendar! On May 10, Lehigh-Northampton County Pomona Grangers are sponsoring a chicken barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schnecks-ville Grange, 5322 Route 873, Schnecksville.

Meal includes half a chicken, baked potato, pepper cabbage, applesauce and dinner roll. Eat in or take out.

Proceeds will be used to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to the 2014 Allentown Fair Queen. Come out and meet 2013 Queen Erin Schantzenbach, and enjoy a dinner, too.

Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, is hosting a Night at the Theater spring concert 6:30 p.m. May 4.

All are invited to listen to music from Broadway, movies and the theater.

Morgenland egg hunt April 19

The Fresh Air Fund Program is looking for host families to care for a New York City child for 7-10 days this summer.

Children arrive in the Lehigh Valley by bus. Host families provide open hearts, simple childhood activities and a bed.

Dates are July 1-8, 18-28 and Aug. 1-8, 8-15. Alternate dates are available.
