The public is invited! On Aug. 10, the Heidelberg Association of Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will meet immediately after the 11 a.m. United Church of Christ worship service to take a day trip.
Car pooling will be available for anyone needing a ride.
Bring a friend or two and tag along to tour the Lockridge Furnace Museum, Franklin Street, Alburtis.
Before the tour, this busy bunch of retirees plans to stop first for a little lunch at the Starlite Diner, Route 100, Fogelsville.
Northwestern Recreation Commission is hosting its annual "Night in the Country" celebration 4-10 p.m. Aug. 16. Rain date is Aug. 17.
There will be a live country band, huge car cruise, DJ, Chinese auction, bingo, great food and activities.
To end the evening, a magnificant fireworks display is planned. Admission donations will be accepted.

The musical, "Once Upon a Parable," will be performed at 11:05 a.m. Aug. 10.

Bridge to Daisies
Girl Scout Troop 6030 is hosting a Bridge to Daisies program Aug. 4, 6, 11 and 13 at Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.
The four-part program, 6:30-7:30 p.m., will introduce kindergarten and first grade girls to the benefits of Scouting. Girls can attend one or all four nights. There is a fee to attend.

Spend a Night in the Grove, July 19 at Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield. Beginning at 5 p.m., this free event features hay rides, hot dogs, s'mores and games geared to get people in the community together. In the case of rain, attendees will venture inside for some old-style movie watching.
