H.A.R.P group to visit Lockridge

The public is invited! On Aug. 10, the Heidelberg Association of Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will meet immediately after the 11 a.m. United Church of Christ worship service to take a day trip.

Car pooling will be available for anyone needing a ride.

Bring a friend or two and tag along to tour the Lockridge Furnace Museum, Franklin Street, Alburtis.

Before the tour, this busy bunch of retirees plans to stop first for a little lunch at the Starlite Diner, Route 100, Fogelsville.

'Night' celebration planned for Aug. 16

Northwestern Recreation Commission is hosting its annual "Night in the Country" celebration 4-10 p.m. Aug. 16. Rain date is Aug. 17.

There will be a live country band, huge car cruise, DJ, Chinese auction, bingo, great food and activities.

To end the evening, a magnificant fireworks display is planned. Admission donations will be accepted.

Ziegels to present musical

Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville, will present its second annual drama and music camp for those who have completed kindergarten to adults, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8. Dinner will be served at 8:30 p.m.

The musical, "Once Upon a Parable," will be performed at 11:05 a.m. Aug. 10.

There is a men's breakfast 7 a.m. Fridays at the Cracker Barrel restaurant, Fogelsville.

Bridge to Daisies

Girl Scout Troop 6030 is hosting a Bridge to Daisies program Aug. 4, 6, 11 and 13 at Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.

The four-part program, 6:30-7:30 p.m., will introduce kindergarten and first grade girls to the benefits of Scouting. Girls can attend one or all four nights. There is a fee to attend.

Calling all kids! Heidelberg Church's Vacation Bible School will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 21-25.

Children in preschool through sixth grade are invited to learn about the love of Jesus through this year's program, "Gangway to Galilee."

A Night in the Grove

Spend a Night in the Grove, July 19 at Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield. Beginning at 5 p.m., this free event features hay rides, hot dogs, s'mores and games geared to get people in the community together. In the case of rain, attendees will venture inside for some old-style movie watching.

Superheroes for God

Christ's Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, will be getting youngsters excited about being a superhero for God at this year's session of Vacation Bible School.
