LOWHILL TOWNSHIP: Churches offering Easter events

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is hosting a free community breakfast and egg hunt with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny April 13.

A breakfast of egg casseroles, hash brown casseroles, gluten free and regular pancakes, cream chipped beef, French toast, sausages, ham and beverages will be served from 9-11 a.m.

The egg hunt starts at 11 a.m. in the grove.

UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP: Churches offering Easter activities

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have an Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 1 through sixth grade at 2 p.m. on April 14, rain or shine.

An adult challenge course will also be offered.

Refreshments will be served in the grove following the egg hunt.

The church will observe Maundy Thursday with a Union Agape potluck meal (a form of Love Feast) 6:30 p.m. April 18 in fellowship hall.

LYNN TOWNSHIP Easter Egg Hunt April 13 at Jacob’s Church

Jacob’s Church, Jacksonville, Lynn Township, is having an Easter Egg Hunt 1 p.m. April 13.

There also will be an Easter message, balloon release and prizes for everyone.

Youngsters from infant through sixth grade are invited to participate.


St. Peter’s Lynnville UCC will present a Teen Challenge Choir on April 7. Teens will be singing and sharing their testimonies.

Teen Challenge provides a faith based ministry to help adults and teens struggling with addiction,

All are invited to a morning of inspiration and then a potluck lunch.


HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP Grange baking shoofly pies

Like no other! Lehigh-Northampton County Grangers will get together again to bake their scrumptious, 10-inch, wet-bottom, shoofly pies.

Order by calling Elaine Hoppes at 610-767-4400.

Pies may be picked up 1-3 p.m. April 6 at the Schnecksville Grange, Route 863, Schnecksville.

Proceeds from this bake sale will benefit numerous community service projects.

NORTH WHITEHALL: NOVA to have bazaar, theme baskets

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will have its annual bazaar with theme baskets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 6.

The event features lunch, baked goods, attic treasures and theme baskets. Drawing for the baskets will be at 2 p.m.

NOVA volunteers are preparing for the Easter bread, paska, fundraiser which will offer 1- or 2-pound loaves, with or without raisins.

HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP H.A.R.P. taking road trip, April 2, to Allentown preservation museum

Calling all retirees! Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will meet 10:15 a.m. April 2 at Heidelberg Church and car pool to the Preservation Plus and More Museum, Allentown.

This museum provides a great opportunity to see historic farm and garden equipment up close and personal.

Following the tour, this busy bunch of retirees will stop for some lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Remember, you do not need to be a Heidelberg Church member to attend.

All are welcome to come.

Happy spring! Are you ready for warmer weather and no snow?

It’s about time for some green grass and flowers.

Now that you can get out and about, why not attend an event or volunteer to help?


St. Peter’s Lynnville, United Church of Christ, is having a soup social after the 9:30 a.m. March 24 service.

There will be homemade soups to share for lunch and family games for all ages.

On April 7, the Teen Challenge Choir will sing and share their testimonies.

Stop by the barnyard at 12:30 p.m. for a chance to meet the zoo’s pot-bellied pigs, Helga and Penelope.

World Wildlife Day will be celebrated on March 3 at the zoo.

Experience a real-life wolf feeding at the Mexican Gray Wolf exhibit at 10:30 a.m.

There will be an interactive keeper chat at the Scimitar Horned Oryx exhibit at 12:30 p.m.
