Accepting applications

The Allentown Branch of the American Association of University Women is accepting applications for Interrupted Studies grants.

Grants are given to women both residing in, and attending school in, the greater Lehigh Valley area, who have had their college studies interrupted for at least six months and who have returned/are returning to school during the academic year beginning summer 2013 and ending spring 2014.

Complete information and application forms are available on the AAUW website at aauwallentownpa.org.

Deadline for receipt of applications is Feb. 16.

Group looking for yearbooks

Weisenberg-Lowhill Historical Society will meet 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Weisenberg Township Building.

The society is looking for Northwestern Lehigh yearbooks for 1961, 1966, 1971, 1972 and 1973 to complete its collection.

Call the historical society's librarian at 610-285-6682 to donate a yearbook.

Vehicle damaged

in Weisenberg Twp.

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Joshua Raf Lopez-Tejada, 20 of Reading, reported the rear passenger side door of his vehicle was damaged between 6-11:20 a.m. on Feb. 8 while parked at Advanced Auto Parts, 9755 Commerce Circle, Weisenberg Township.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact state police at 610-395-1438.

Northwestern student to perform at Big 33

Emi Gutgold, a senior at Northwestern Lehigh High School, has been selected to cheer and perform June 15 in the Big 33 Football Classic in Hershey.

The Big 33 Football Classic is an all-star game between the top high school players of Pennsylvania and Maryland.

To make the cheerleading team, Gutgold tried out against 90 other aspiring high school seniors in Hershey last month.

The Big 33 brings the best high school athletes together to compete.

No Super Bowl has been played without a Big 33 alumni.
