Weisenberg Elementary students learn about fire safety

Thursday, January 14, 2016 by LINDA DEIBERT in School

Weisenberg Elementary third-grade students recently made their annual trek to the Weisenberg Fire Department.

Students left their school across the street from the fire station with the assistance of a fire truck that stopped traffic, before the youngster walked down the path to the firehouse.

While there, students learned about safety from volunteer firefighter Randy Zack.

He suggested when the students went home that evening they should sit down with their family and plan two ways to exit their home, as well as a place to meet after they escaped a fire.
