Northwestern Lehigh Alumni Association is sponsoring a basket bingo fundraiser Oct. 28 at the Lynnport Fire Company, Behler Street, Lynnport.
Doors open at noon. Food will be available with bingo beginning at 1 p.m.
Bring a canned good for the Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry.
There also will be a Chinese auction and door prizes.
Wear a costume and receive a free raffle ticket.

The crowning of the homecoming queen and king will take place Oct. 5 during halftime of the football game against Southern Lehigh.

Third-grade students at Weisenberg Elementary recently learned from various community members and parents about the jobs they perform in their daily lives.
Students heard from a TV sports reporter, a biomedical technician, a dentist, a chemist and others.
Bekki George, massage therapist, told students that as a child, she enjoyed giving back rubs, an activity that led her to her career field.
Her therapy is designed to help her patients relax and to lessen their chronic pain.
Classes resume on Aug. 27.
Orientation will be on Aug. 22. Freshman orientation will take place 8 a.m. to noon; middle school 8:30-10:30 a.m.; Northwestern Elementary kindergarten orientation will be 2-3 p.m. and Weisenberg Elementary will be from 2-3:30 p.m.
There will be open houses 6-8 p.m. Aug. 22 at Northwestern and Weisenberg elementary schools.
Chromebook distribution for middle school students will take place 8:30-11 a.m. and noon to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in the gym.

The Makerspace program is designed so students can be creative, solve problems and do some basic work in coding.
Northwestern and Weisenberg elementary schools began introducing students to the program last fall.
Kelly Rissell from the school district information technology department, spearheaded a grant request sent to the state for funds to purchase Makerspace technology for the elementary schools.
Third- and fourth-grade students from Northwestern and Weisenberg elementary schools recently met for a day of fun at the elementary challenge games at the Northwestern Recreation Commission Community Park fields in New Tripoli.
The challenges were organized by Chris Klein and Von Muller, gym teachers at the schools.
There will be no school on May 28 in observance of Memorial Day.
The last day of school is June 12.

Eighth grade promotion will take place 8:30 a.m. June 12 in the auditorium.
