All-time winner! Hats off to members of Central Grange 1650 of Germansville for bringing home a first place win with their exhibit titled, "Fun With Our Grange" at The 2014 Great Allentown Fair.
According to Program Coordinator Elaine Hoppes, each year in January, the grange members from Lehigh and North-ampton counties meet to plan the year's events.
At this meeting, the grangers choose a theme for their displays at the fair. Each grange then decides how to interpret the theme on the exhibit's backboard.
Have a ball! Heidelberg Township's bowling league is searching for people in the area to join the team.
Men, women, couples and young adults of all ages are welcome to join this fun group of bowlers 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Slatington Bowling Center.
The league will start bowling Sept. 2 and continue through April 2015.

Hello again! Starting June 8, Heidelberg United Church of Christ will have a friendship hour on the porch following the 11 a.m. service.
This hour of friendship will continue Sundays during the summer.
All are welcome to come out, visit on the porch and enjoy a special time of fellowship and food.

Mark your calendar! On May 10, Lehigh-Northampton County Pomona Grangers are sponsoring a chicken barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schnecks-ville Grange, 5322 Route 873, Schnecksville.
Meal includes half a chicken, baked potato, pepper cabbage, applesauce and dinner roll. Eat in or take out.
Proceeds will be used to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to the 2014 Allentown Fair Queen. Come out and meet 2013 Queen Erin Schantzenbach, and enjoy a dinner, too.
