Something ‘Wild’: Once again, the new circus comes to Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre

When Noah Dach, a 2016 Muhlenberg College graduate and fellow student Henry Evans decided they wanted to run away and join the circus, they instead created their own.

Dach, Evans and Tommy McCarthy co-founded the Atlas Circus Company, which has been developing performances in and around New York City since the trio graduated from Muhlenberg College. McCarthy is assistant director of “Wild.”

Two family-friendly ballets with live music, “Carnaval” and “Pictures at an Exhibition,” will be performed by the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley June 2, Baker Hall, Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University, Bethlehem.

One performance for school students will be presented at 10 a.m. and one performance for the public will be presented 7 p.m. June 2.

The Ballet Guild, a nonprofit organization founded by Marjorie Berlin Fink in 1958, serves as the umbrella organization of the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (PYB).

Happy, creative campers to return for ‘City Arts’

The 19th annual “City Arts Cultural Camp for Kids” takes place June 26 - 30. This fantastic opportunity is open to youngsters ages of 7 - 10.

The camp, a collaborative project of the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown Symphony Association, The Baum School of Art, Civic Theatre of Allentown, Community Music School, and Repertory Dance Theatre, allows campers to learn about the arts while participating in activities and classes at each one of these Allentown arts nonprofits.
