School is Open! Kids are back in school and for us in Lynn that means different traffic patterns and maybe a longer commute.
Bus stops are not always marked, so drivers are urged to use caution on all routes.
Also, many kids are just getting their licenses and their driving skills aren’t up to par yet.
So patience, seasoned drivers. Remember when you were 16?

With summer in full swing, it’s actually a good thing the rain came when it did. Although it’s put a damper on outdoor events, ruined some roofs and a few areas got their share of flooding, the water is needed. Hot dry summers take their toll on plants and people.
Lynnport Fire Company, Lynnport is having hoagie sales.
Orders are due by July 26 and pick up is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at the fire company.
The homemade large hoagies come in following varieties: Italian with and without onions, ham and cheese, tuna and turkey on white or wheat rolls.
New Tripoli Fire Company is having a Father’s Day chicken barbecue 11 a.m. June 18. Eat-in or take out.
The meal includes half a chicken, baked potato or filling, pickled cabbage, dinner roll and beverage.
There will also be a bake sale with a variety of sweets from which to choose.
Give dad a break, mow the lawn and buy him dinner.
Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, will host Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School 6-8:30 p.m. June 25-29.
VBS is open to children age 3 to those currently in fifth grade. VBS is free to attend.
Lynnport Fire Company, Behler Street, Lynnport will host an adult bingo on May 19.
Doors and the kitchen open 6 p.m. Games begin 7:30 p.m.

The fire company will host its first Community Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20.
There will be a Miller-Keystone blood drive, games, crafts, door prizes and music by DJ Shawn.
There will also be free hot dogs, chips and beverages.
Lehigh Valley Farm Fest will take place noon to 6 p.m. May 6 at Ontelaunee Park, New Tripoli.
The fest is a community-building event to showcase local agriculture and sustainable living through educational opportunities, local foods, lively entertainment and fun family activities.
While admission is free, a small donation per car for parking would be greatly appreciated.

Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society, New Tripoli, will have its annual banquet April 26 at the Lynnport Fire Company.
Social part of the evening begins 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Teddy Roosevelt, the 36th president of the United States, as portrayed by Peyton Dixon, will be the guest speaker.
He will be available to answer questions while speaking with attendees in the social hall.

Price includes Easter Egg Hunt, picture with the bunny and refreshments.
The Egg Hunt is open to children 6 months to 12 years old.
