Thursday, September 5, 2019 by BERNADETTE SUKLEY in School

State Rep. Gary Day, R-187th, sat down with kindergarten classes at Weisenberg Elementary recently and read the book, “On The First Day of Kindergarten,” by Tish Rabe and illustrated by Laura Hughes.

He started with Amanda Reifinger’s class and then visited Laura Luca and Marion Miller’s classes reading the same book.

Based on a show of hands, some students were already familiar with the story, others were not.

This was the first time Day met with students in the first week of school.

Kline comes from the Mahanoy Area School District with about nine years of experience in band, choral and music direction.
