Sheltering in Place

She’s sheltering in place

taking care of her own

protecting them from chill winds

No long walks

or taking flight for her

She’s dedicated to her task

so vital to the future of her species

This is her duty

and she is performing it to the utmost

For it is her hope that as a result

10 baby ducklings will follow her

into their new world
