Children’s author visits with students at Weisenberg

Thursday, October 31, 2019 by Bernadette Sukley Special to The Press in School

Children’s author and speaker Candace Fleming visited Weisenberg Elementary School on Oct. 16.

Fleming has written award-winning books such as “Boxes for Katie,” about a young girl who receives a box from America filled with soap, socks, and chocolate as part of a goodwill effort to help the people of Europe recover from the devastation of World War II.

She has also written funny picture books such as, “Go to Sleep in Your Own Bed,” “Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!” and “Gator Gumbo.” In turn, the students gifted the author with songs about her books.
