Nicolette Chuss of Fogelsville and Harrison Hall of New Tripoli were named to the president’s list for the spring 2019 semester at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.

Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above.

Chuss is majoring in communication sciences and disorders. Hall is majoring in biology.

Muhlenberg

The following Muhlenberg College students were recognized for their academic achievement and named to dean’s list for spring 2019.

Allentown: Alyssa Ahdieh, William Baar, Betty Ben Dor, Kyla Buck, Devon Darira, James DeMatteo, Meredith Lipson, Elizabeth Long, Morgan McDevitt, Samuel Morgan, Makenzie O’Brien, Laurie O’Neill, Hadar Re’em, Sophie Sarnitsky, Natalie Trachtman, and Ariel Wursta;

Fogelsville: Willem Birgel, Brandon Eden, Emily Kapelsohn;

Laurys Station: Michaela Boyer;

Orefield: Sara Abdulrazzak, Anthony Fillis, Meghan McGorry; and

Schnecksville: Connor Baker, Brittany Gelb, Austin Hoffman, Adam Lizak, and Danica Schofer.

Students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.

Albright

Brock Andrew Rabenold of Kutztown and Angela Marie Turczyn of Breinigsville, recently graduated from Albright College, Reading.

Rabenold, a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in digital studio art.

Turczyn, a graduate of Emmaus High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and secondary education, cum laude.

Jane Golden, founder and executive director of Mural Arts Philadelphia offered a commencement address after being awarded an honorary degree of humane letters.

Turczyn took to the stage to ask her classmates to close their eyes and consider whom they thank most for helping them make it to graduation day.

“Not too long ago, when I would close my eyes, I would picture my mother,” she said.

“She has inspired me to provide unconditional support and strength to not only my future children, but also my future students.

“Now, however, when I close my eyes and picture who I thank for my being here today, I finally see myself. Albright has helped me reach further than I thought possible, and I will forever be grateful.”
