LYNN TOWNSHIP: Jacob’s Church accepting fastnacht orders

In the movie, “Groundhog’s Day,” the main character has the chance to redo Feb. 2 until he becomes the best version of himself.

Why not give yourself a redo by making a call to a neighbor to check on him or her or by volunteering to help a local organization? It’s never too late for a do-over.


Jacob’s Church, Route 143, Jacksonville, Lynn Township, is having its annual fastnacht sale on March 2.

Order by Feb. 22 by calling Ruth Kaley at 610-562-7406 or Faye Billig at 610-298-2271.

Pick up fastnachts between 1-4 p.m. March 2, and 8:30-10 a.m. or from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 3.

Choose either plain or brown sugar/cinnamon in half-dozen or a dozen sizes.


Lynnport Fire Company, Lynnport, is having a meat and cash bingo 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 10.

Ebenezer Church UCC, New Tripoli, is offering after-school homework help.

The program provides tutoring, homework help, materials and resources for projects.

Ebenezer’s Clothing Closet will be open from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 14; and from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 16.

Clothing is available for the entire family. Take as much as needed. Proof of need is not required.

Lots of sweaters and winter apparel are in stock now.


Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group hosts a critique gathering at Wanamakers General Store on the third Sunday of every month.

The next meeting is 1-3 p.m. Feb. 17.

The meeting is free and open to members and nonmembers.
