Kindergarten registration for the 2018-19 school year will take place on April 4 and 5 at Weisenberg Elementary.

Children must be age 5 on or before Sept. 1.

To register a child, visit the district website and click on the link on the home page.

Bring the following to the appointment: the child’s original state birth certificate with official raised seal, two proofs of residency, proof of immunizations, custody information, if applicable and the kindergarten enrollment packet.

Northwestern Elementary

Box Top Collection Day to send in box tops with students is Feb. 23.

Spirit Week is Feb. 26 through March 2.

Students are invited to wear costumes specific to each day being celebrated: Feb. 26 is Read My Shirt Day. Wear a shirt with words on it.

Feb. 27 is Thing 1 and Thing 2 Twin Day. Dress like a friend. Feb. 28 is Grinch and Green Eggs Day. Wear green. March 1 is Book Character Day Dress like a favorite book character. March 2 is Dr. Seuss Day. Wear red, black and white and a hat.

The NWE Book Trade will be Feb. 26 for fifth grade; Feb. 27 for fourth grade; Feb. 28 for third grade; March 1 for second grade and March 2 for first grade.

Weisenberg Elementary

Third-grade students will be learning about the different career opportunities available to them in the future.

Various parents have been invited by the third grade teachers to visit classrooms on Feb. 23 in to discuss their jobs.

Read Across America Week will take place from Feb. 26 through March 2.

Students and staff are invited to participate in celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday by dressing up.

On Feb. 26: The Cat in the Hat, wear Red, White and Black; Feb. 27, I Can Read with My Eyes Shut, wear a readable shirt.

Feb. 28 is Who-ville, Wacky Hair Day.

March 1 is The Foot Book. Wear fun footwear and on March 2, dress as a favorite book character.
