State Police Troop M, Fogelsville, are investigating a reported residential burglary in progress which occurred 11:34 a.m. Jan. 19 in the 2200 block of Beechwood St., Lowhill Township.

Police say Troopers saw a side garage entry door was kicked in.

Further investigation revealed the suspect was in the neighborhood knocking on doors before the burglary of the unoccupied home.

Once inside, the suspect went directly to the upstairs bedrooms, where he stole a firearm, cash and jewelry.

He then fled when the audible alarm activated, police say.

A neighborhood canvas was conducted and a witness was located who said the suspect was knocking on the front doors in the area.

The individual may have been driving a dark color sedan.

Anyone with any information about this burglary is asked to contact Trooper Jared Christman and refer to incident number PA2018-62338.
