Board prepares for 2018

Many of the officials in Heidelberg Township will continue the new year in their 2017 positions.

Steve Bachman is chairman of the board of supervisors with David Fink as vice chairman.

Janice Meyers again will serve as administrator/secretary-treasurer for the coming year.

The treasurer’s bond is set at $500,000.

Steckel and Stopp law firm, Slatington, continues as township solicitor.

Keystone Consulting Engineers, Wescosville, will serve as the engineer.

Meeting dates for supervisors were set at Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

Special budget meetings will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

Planning commission meetings are scheduled for Jan. 1, Feb. 26, March 26, April 30, May 21, June 25, July 30, Aug. 27, Sept 24, Oct. 29, Nov. 26 and Dec. 17.

Zoning meetings are held as required.

The environmental advisory council is scheduled to meet Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.

All meetings are at 7:30 p.m. except budget meetings.

Patti Fenstermaker was appointed to the planning commission for a four-year term and Michael Bailey was appointed for a three-year term to the zoning hearing board.

Priscilla Brennan was appointed to the environmental advisory council for three years. She also is chair of that group.

Jeffrey Christman is a member of the Municipal Building Code Board of Appeals. Lee Behler was named chairman of the vacancy board.

Keystone Consulting Engineers was named an alternate zoning officer and enforcement officer, as well as sewage enforcement officer. Scott Beaver is alternate SEO.

Codemaster Inspection Services will serve as building, plumbing and electrical inspector. Blue Mountain Inspection Services fills the same position to provide a choice for residents.

Phyllis Breininger is the voting delegate to the Lehigh Tax Collection Committee with Meyers named alternate delegate.

Supervisor Jonathan Jakum will serve as director of office operations, Fink was named director of public works and Bachman is director of parks and recreation, township representative to the Northwestern Recreation Committee and alternate director of public works office and office operations.

Meyers will serve as the voting delegate to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors convention in the spring.

Mileage reimbursement is equivalent to the IRS reimbursement at 54.5 cents.
