Vehicle hits deer in Lynn Twp

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Sean M. Widner, 22, of Waynesville, Mo., was driving a 2017 Nissan NV200 van when it struck a deer 11:54 p.m. June 19 at 9126 Kings Highway, Lynn Township.

According to police, Widner was driving northbound on Kings Highway in the right lane, when a deer traveled from the right shoulder of the roadway directly in front of the van.

Widner was unable to avoid the deer, which was struck by the van’s front bumper.

After impact, the van continued northbound on Kings Highway for approximately 100 feet before coming to a final controlled rest in the right lane, facing north.

Widner was uninjured, police say.

Police say his passenger Shaylee N. Lopez Alameda, 21, of Waynesville, sustained possible injuries and was transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for medical evaluation and treatment.

Both Widner and Lopez Alameda were wearing seat belts.

Stew’s Towing removed the van from the scene. Lynnport Fire Company assisted at the scene.

No information was provided by police on the condition of the deer.
