Boosterthon raises funds for Makerspace
Once again Northwestern Elementary students are using the Boosterthon to raise funds for their school.
Last year, they raised over $16,000 for field trips and assemblies.
This year, they are attempting to raise $20,000 for Makerspace, as well as field trips. Makerspace is designed to assist teachers in the integration of math, art, science and more into their curriculum.
During a recent assembly, students learned about the Boosterthon.
The Northwestern Elementary Black and Gold Dash culminated Feb. 9 with a glow run in the gym.
There were many themed events including Celebrity, Thriller and Running Man laps.
As an incentive, Principal Maria Pulli told the students as a reward for reaching their goal they can turn her into a human ice cream sundae.
