Wescoe’s hat trick leads Liberty soccer

Several Lehigh Valley Press area teams were in action Friday afternoon.

GIRLS SOCCER

Parkland-Nazareth

The Trojans beat the Blue Eagles 1-0.

Helen Flynn scored Parkland’s goal in the first half as her team out-shot Nazareth 18-1.

Allen-Liberty

Kathryn Wescoe’s hat trick led the Hurricanes in a 6-0 win over Allen.

Liberty’s Alicia Chambers, Madison Muller and Merve Okumus also scored goals. Okumus had two assists in the game and Wescoe had one.

BOYS SOCCER

Liberty-Allen

The Hurricanes beat the Canaries 2-1.

Liberty goals were scored by Tallah Netherlin and Sammy Abiles with assists going to Spencer Koski and Valentine Perelov. Keeper Peyton Virgilio made eight saves in the Hurricane goal.

Easton-Freedom

The Red Rovers beat the Patriots 1-0.

Easton’s Reichard scored the game’s only goal with an assist from Santiago.

FIELD HOCKEY

Salisbury-Catasauqua

The Falcons beat the Rough Riders 1-0.

Alicia Burkhart scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Madison Jewell.

Catty had 17 shots and 18 corners to just one shot and three corners for Salisbury.

Palmerton-Catasauqua

The Blue Bombers beat the Rough Riders 4-2 in a game played Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Catasauqua goals were scored by Alyssa Proctor and Jackie Garner.

Trisha Billing had all four Palmerton goals.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Pocono Mountain West-Catasauqua

The Panthers beat the Rough Riders 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-8, 25-12).
