6th 'History Day'

The 6th Annual "Saucon Valley History Day" is 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. April 27, Heller Homestead, along Saucon Creek, off the Saucon Rail Trail, Lower Saucon Township, sponsored by the Saucon Valley Conservancy.

The event includes: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., firing demonstrations, 153rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; 10:30 a.m., remarks, recognition of 1891 Lime Kiln School Cornerstone Donation by King Family; 11 a.m., Four-Square Herb Garden Rededication Ceremony and 10th anniversary celebration; noon, opening remarks, group photo,

Also, throughout the day: Hellertown Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce 2nd annual "Pathway to Progress"; Grist Mill, Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse activities; book-signing, Lee Weidner, "Saucon Secrets, Vol. II"; Heller House, Widow's House tours; 2012 "History Day at Heller Homestead" photos display; Civil War living history demonstrations; Saucon Valley middle and high school student art display; native plants sale; arts and crafts show; yard sale; and food and beverages.
