Women of Faith meeting Aug. 27

That's the spirit! Heidelberg Lutheran Church will have a food stand next to the UCC stand at "Night in the Country" celebration 4-10 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Northwestern Recreation Commission Community Park, Route 309 and Northwest Road.

Lutheran members will be selling sweet Italian sausage sandwiches, beef barbecue, hot dogs, Snapple iced teas, bottled water, Coke and Diet Coke.

Anyone needing more information or in volunteering, may call Betty at 610-767-6949.

Members of Heidelberg United Church of Christ will offer delicious pies with ice cream in addition to turkey barbecue, baked beans and bottled water at their stand.

Call Sheri at 610-440-0648 to volunteer at the booth or for more details.

Spread the word! Heidelberg Church's Women of Faith invites ladies of all ages to join them at the church for a covered dish and planning meeting 6 p.m. Aug. 27.

Bring a friend and a covered dish as they plan another exciting year.

Any questions, contact Eleanor Klevenhagen at 610-767-5065.

Where's the party! Heidelberg Church's Fellowship Hall is available for use to members and non-members for all occasions such as bridal and baby showers, birthday and retirement parties, etc.

Call Linda Fritzinger at 610-767-9086 to reserve the hall or for further information.

If you would like to be a volunteer, who occasionally is called upon to help out in fellowship hall, call Sharon Thompson at 610-767-5244 to be added to the help list.

Don't miss it! Germansville Fire Company will hold its first 2000 Club Ticket drawing Aug. 31 in the downstairs social hall.

The public is invited to stop in 7-9:30 p.m. during any Friday night drawing. New punch boards will be used at each weekly drawing.

A big thank you to Kevin Schaffer of I.S.S. Fuel Sales and Service, Germansville, for sponsoring this year's bright orange tickets.

So, when you see Kevin, go ahead and give him a high five!

The kitchen will be open for supper and offer a wide range of tasty foods. There will also be free refreshments, such as chips, pretzels and beverages for all to enjoy.

And last, but not least, each ticket holder is entitled to a free platter of a hot roast beef sandwich with filling and choice of vegetable at the final drawing 6 p.m. Nov. 3 in the upstairs banquet hall.

Those wishing to purchase a ticket ought to make haste and call Larry at 610-767-3409 or Harold at 610-767-4400.

As always, the fire company thanks you for your continued support.

Just a thought! The mind is like the stomach.

It's not how much you put into it that counts but how it digests.
